DEN alsocontains limited information on Salvage Yards, Above Ground Tanks, Tire Piles,AnimalOperation, Artificial Reef, Nature Preserve, Historic Monument Site, Open Spaces, Parks, Playgrounds, and Wildlife Areas
Work is in progress to integrate Septic Permits, Ground Water Usage, and Wetlands information into the DEN. These will be completed by December 2005. Further work is needed to integrate Hazardous Waste and Underground Tank Corrective Action Sites, Toxic Release Inventory, Above Ground Tanks and Ambient Monitoring Data. These are expected to be completed by December 2006. More Natural Resource programs data are expected to be integrated into DEN by December 2007.
Most of the data is entered into the database within a few hours to a few days of its availability to the Department. As soon as the data is entered into the database it is available to the public. Certain enforcement action data is available to the public only after the action has been completed. Monitoring data are received by the Department at certain predetermined intervals. They are quality checked before they are entered into the database.
Every effort is made to ensure the quality of the data recently acquired. Historical data older than five years has been subject to less quality check.
